Where does S&S Homes, Inc. build?
We build throughout Eastern Nebraska, with most of our work in Columbus and the surrounding communities, including Schuyler, David City, Humphrey, and Duncan.
How much does it cost to build a custom home?
Every home is priced from its own plan, so there is no single number. As a starting point for budgeting, our starter homes and townhomes generally begin around $250 per square foot, and our higher-end custom homes can reach $400. The lot and what it takes to build on it, the square footage, and the level of finish you choose move that number the most.
How long does it take to build a custom home?
Design and planning usually run six months to a year, which also gives you time to get on our schedule. Construction from there typically runs eight months to a year. Weather, material lead times, and how quickly selections get made all affect the date.
Do I need to own a lot before I contact you?
No. We have lots available you can choose from, we can help you find one that suits you, or we can build on ground you already own.
Can I buy a home you have already built?
From time to time we offer select homes for sale, for people who want to move in without the wait of a full custom build. Anything currently available is listed on the Available Now page.
